FOREVER Candy Canes

Do you like to do a sweet craft in less than 30 minutes? Well, me too. This is such an easy one. You can be a beginner crochet(er) and still do this in roughly 30 minutes.

Supplies Needed:  Red and white yarn, crochet hook F, G, H, I are all good (just remember that the smaller the hook, the smaller the candy cane will be), I used a G, and finally a red or white pipe cleaner. 

Skills Needed: Must know how to make a single and a double crochet.  Look on youtube for tutorials. 

Directions: Begin with red yarn and chain 45 stitches, turn and then double crochet three times in the same stitch, chain one, then double crochet three times in the next stitch and so on until you have no more stitches left. Tie off.

Begin again with the white yarn, chain 45, turn and double crochet three times in the same pattern as for the red yarn.  Tie off. 

Now comes the fun part.  Twist your red and white candy canes to overlap each other into one stripped candy cane.  They will fit together perfectly!  

Lastly, you can feed a pipe cleaner through the middle of the candy cane to hold its shape.
